Knowing your roots makes you understand who you are

Rana, Children books Author and Mother
Top: Inheritance of her older sister
Shots: Mango
Watch: Swatch
Shoes: Department Store Istanbul
Rana got this beautiful, handmade blouse six years ago from her older sister. Before, her sister already had been wearing it for more than four years. The blouse reminds Rana of her Hungarian grandmother. The stitched flower motive is kind of typical Hungarian handcraft. Wearing it makes Rana feel connected to her Hungarian roots, even though the ties are cut and the language was not passed after her grandparents moved to America. Rana feels a great thirst for knowing her grandparents history. She wears the blouse to fulfill the need to know more about her Hungarian heritage. And she is totally right because knowing your roots makes you understand who you are. Like in Jonathan Safran Foer's "Everything is Illuminated"
