Put some yellow in your life!

Aslı, Mathematics Teacher

Sunglasses: Ray Ban
Blouse: Boutique, Bodrum
Jeans: Market, Taksim
Bag: Boutique Istanbul
Watch: Grand Bazaar, Istanbul
Shoes: Converse Chucks
Aslıs shiny yellow blouse was visible from a great distance. I only saw her yellow back and I knew that she would become my next Imprimoloco shoot. Pure, bright and sunny yellow is the easiest colour to see. Yellow symbolizes wisdom. Yellow means joy and happiness. People of high intellect favor yellow. The fact that Aslı is earning her living as a mathematics teacher only underlines my colour theory. I like her local style. She got most of her outfit from small Turkish boutiques, local markets or the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul. Currently, Aslı is always wearing her personal lucky charm: Perfectly matching bracelets from a small boutique in Bodrum. I think, Aslı is well equipped for the challenges of life with intellect and luck.

The Power of childhood memories

Gamze, Physics Teacher
Blouse: Memory of her childhood
Shirt, Koton, Ankara
Jeans, LCWaikiki, Ankara
Shoes, Department Store, Yalova
Gamze nodded vigorously and pointed at her blouse when I told her about the idea of Imprimoloco. She knew exactly what "the Story of Style" stands for. Gamzes blouse is a beautiful memory of her childhood. She kept the blouse for many years. Nothing is more powerful than the memories created by a child's experiences. Every day of adult life is touched by the memories of childhood experiences. Our most important adult goals have their roots in childhood memories. Our most powerful adult drives have their roots in childhood memories. I was deeply touched by her words: "I miss my childhood." Obviously her childhood memories are not only deeply anchored in her mind, but in her heart.

The Good and the Truth

Dajana, Technical Service
Sunglasses: Mango
Shirt: Zara
Bag: Mango
Shorts: Department Store, Australia
Shoes: Buffalo, Munich
Bracelet: Gift from a good friend
Star Tattoo: Reeperbahn, Hamburg
Dajana told me that especially her jewelry means a lot to her. There is a story behind every single piece she owns. But nevertheless Dajana decided to tell me the story of her star tattoo: Seven years ago Dajana spent a couple of days in Hamburg together with her good friend Sylvia. They had an extraordinary evening at Reeperbahn, Hamburgs most popular nightlife district. Early in the morning the idea of a matching tattoo came up. So they decided unanimously to get a star constellation tattooed that becomes a complete picture by placing their feet side by side. Take a close look! The signification of stars is the knowledge of good and truth. And I think that's exactly what a friendship should stand for: The Good and the Truth!
Star TV interrupted our shooting for a short interview. I tried very hard to answer their questions. But in the end my Turkish was definitely not good enough for giving valuable answers...

Just accurate!

Sylvia, Business Communication Student
Sunglasses: Market, Istanbul
Top: H&M
Leggings: New Yorker, Berlin
Watch: Casio
Bag: Gift
I met Sylvia and her friend Dajana at Taksim, sitting on a fountain, watching the crowds. I loved the fact that their style differed from all the others. And when I asked, what language would be comfortable for them, they answered both immediately German. So we had a really nice talk about Istanbul, home country and style. Germans are known for their discipline, order and punctuality. Maybe because of this cliche, we sometimes use the word "accurate" as a synonym for "great". Sylvia used to say "accurate" quite a lot during her first semester at university. For that reason her fellow students gave her the bag which says "Accurate.". I think, that's really "Great" and definitely worth writing about!
I would say, these are accurately manicured nails in bronze: The "must have" nail polish colour of autumn. Can't wait to try it for myself.

Above the roofs of Istanbul

Ali, GM of the Tomtom Suites in Istanbul
Suit: Ramsey
Tie: DKNY
I think Ali is managing one of the most beautiful and tasteful hotels in Istanbul: Tomtom Suites. His hotel is located in Galata, the heart of Istanbul. Tomtom Suites story goes back to the 1850s. The old Franciscan House belongs to the selected group of "The Small Luxury Hotels of the World". What I love most about this place is the intimate atmosphere achieved by sleek and modern decor combined with solid wood floors. And I was deeply impressed by the characteristic artwork! Sitting on the rooftop together with Ali, listening his story, made want to come back as soon as possible and try their food: Nouvelle Turkish Cuisine. If you are looking for the perfect place to stay and eat in Istanbul, take a look at TomtomSuites.com
Tomtom Suites opens its doors on a silent street of the city's most appealing area, and is more of a life style than a hotel.

Are you able to enjoy the moment?

Susana, Communication Planner TBWA
Sun Glasses: Bershka
Dress: Blanco, Mallorca
Denim Jacket: Zara,
Earrings: El Corte Ingles, Sevilla

Bracelets: Boutique in Sri Lanka
Susana came back from Miami two months ago where she had the time of her life. She met new friends, she finished successfully Miami Ad School and most important she enjoyed an easy going lifestyle. One day Susana went shopping with her close friend "JC" (Juan Carlos). She tried this beautiful necklace on and it matched perfectly. JC bought it straightaway for her. This necklace means a lot to Susana: True friendship and faith. Miami definitely changed her life. Back in Zürich Susana tries to continue this new way of living. And I think, she is definitely making it: In whole Zürich I saw no one else enjoying the moment the way she does!

Love is something that is not visible

Tugce, Architecture / Interior Design Student
Denim Jacket: Tommy Hilfiger
Jeans: Koton
Shoes: Koton
Bag: Koton
Waw Necklace: Gift from her father
I was walking along the beautiful seaside of the Marmara Sea and totally lost in thought when I saw Tugce: Relaxing in the sun with a couple of friends, having a nice time and obviously living the moment. Inspired by this enjoyment of life I took some pictures of Tugce and we talked about the Waw. Waw is letter number 26 in the Arabic character set. The spiritual meaning of the letter Waw has a lot to do with Love. Love is something that is not visible. Love is something that is shared between two. We cannot measure Love, but we can see the effects of Love. Tugce got the Waw pendant from her father. The way she talked about him was respectful and loving.
If you take a closer look you can see that there is a small Waw in the big Waw: Like a parent holding a child.

Life is Luck

Derya, Shop Window Designer
Shirt: Bershka
Jeans: H&M
Sunglasses: Ray-Ban
I saw Derya at Zara talking to the employees about the new window design concept. His unique style attracted my attention instantly. If you are in to Nike Sneakers you would probably know that the Sky Force 88 line stands for the true old school eighties style. But most curious I was about Derya's eye catching tattoos. First I noticed his arm tattoo: A perfectly done underwater setting, playing cards, everything American old school style. And written in a flowing font a very wise guiding principle: Life is Luck!
"Just trust Yourself"

The connection of spirit and style

Hazal, English Student
Shirt: Zara
Jeans: Zara
Shoes: Toms
Bracelets: Swarovski, Market in Nişantaşı, Department Store Istanbul
My topic of this week is: How does mood influence your style? Hazal caught my eye because of her charming smile and because of her neon yellow bag. The close connection was just obvious: If you were in a bad mood, you would not choose such a flashy purse. Or is it maybe the other way round: Boosting your spirit by carrying a brash yellow bag? In the end, it doesn't matter. Like Hazal, we should just be aware that there exist a direct link between spirit and style.
Just a couple of days ago I noticed how popular "Toms" in Istanbul are. After some research, I decided that these shoes are quit rightly a big trend: Comfortable and stylish - I like!
I am quite impressed by all of you who are able to match neon, leather and diamond bracelets in a nice way!

Often the simple things are of major importance

 Zeynep, Business Administration Student
Shirt: Zara
Skirt: Zara
Shoes: Toms
Bracelet: Swarovski
Ring: From her mother
I saw Zeynep having a coffee and working at Caffè Nero in Caddebostan. The reason I asked her to take some pictures, was her wonderful flower skirt: So "Summer in the City"! Zeynep's whole outfit is a perfect fit. And when I popped the question what piece is most important for her and why, the answer came straight ahead: "My ring. It is from my mother and I never take it off." Often the simple things are of major importance for us.
